Gly-Tek Field Test Kit – Anti-Freeze in Lubricating Oil

ENGINE OIL+ ETHYLENE GLYCOL = MAJOR ENGINE PROBLEMS

When ethylene glycol leaks its way into lubricating oil systems, the mixture polymerizes into a very viscous fluid. This “taffy-like” combination plugs oil lines and ports, resulting in costly engine repairs.

Research shows that as little as 50 p.p.m of ethylene glycol promotes varnish and sludge formation which leads to accelerated wear thus causing early engine malfunction and possible seizure. An amount this small, undetected, would only appear as a negligible coolant loss.

The Gly-Tek Field Test Kit is very compact. The kit contains everything necessary for 10 complete tests. No costly or lengthy lab work is required. The test can be performed in less than 5 minutes and the results are known within 15 minutes.

Anyone – Anywhere can take a Gly-Tek test:
In the Garage or Plant, in the Field, or in the Lab.

ASTM Standard D2982 references the Gly-Tek Kit as an acceptable method for testing for the presence of ethylene glycol.

Several large engine and transmission manufacturing companies refer to the Gly-Tek Kit in their maintenance and repair bulletins as a quick test for the presence of ethylene glycol. One example is the Allison Transmission Division of General Motors.

DON’T RISK engine loss or incur unnecessary maintenance costs. If a problem is suspected, or as a preventative measure, be sure with a Gly-Tek field test!
